Not Just for the Rich and Famous

Personal Chefs
Judyth Piazza - December 23, 2004

In 1955, Gerald Thomas, a C.A. Swanson & Sons executive, had a big problem on Thanksgiving Day - what to do with 270 tons of left over turkey. As a result, of his problem, the TV dinner was born. The TV dinner was a great concept in its time but for the person who enjoys a home cooked meal, a replacement for the TV dinner, which is not just for the rich and famous anymore, is having your own personal chef.

“I have my own company and work many hours each day, I live alone and do not have time to cook or even do any grocery shopping, having a personal chef has been one of the best things that has every happened to me. All I have to do is heat and eat,” said Tracey Scarborough, Vero Beach, FL.

Chef A Personal Chef is a professional service that comes into your home and takes over your kitchen to prepare multiple meals for you and your family to enjoy later. This helps families gather around the table for meals, allows singles to eat healthier, as well as allowing couples to enjoy a quiet romantic mealtime without all the hassles that go along with dining out.

Personal Chefs are skilled in helping you with any special dietary needs that you or someone in your family my require such as food allergies, medical diets or weight loss. The meals are prepared just for you using the freshest meats, produce, herbs and just the right amount of spice.

Once you have approved the menu and all the details are sorted out, a day will then be scheduled for the preparation of the meals at your home. Your personal chef will arrive with everything needed including pots, pans, knives, and pantry items such as oils, vinegars and spices. The entrees are prepared, cooled, packaged and labeled, and then put into the refrigerator or freezer.

This type of service is great way to combiner menu planning and grocery shopping to food preparation as well as cleanup. All that is left for you to do is warm your customized entrees in the microwave and enjoy.

Personal Chefs also provide special occasion services. In this case the Personal Chef arranges a meal based on an agreed upon menu. The Chef will shop, cook and serve the meal to you and your guests, giving you the restaurant experience, without having to leave your home.

Bon Appetit
